In April 2017, shortly after Kim moved to the Bay Area, a friend’s referral led her to a teaching gig at a yoga studio owned by Jimmy’s brother Carlo and his wife Thea. On her first day, Kim was ready to focus on work, but fate had other plans… Jimmy arrived with his camera to take her portrait for the studio, and if memory serves right, he spent more time flirting than anything else.

Two weeks later at Carlo and Thea’s glamorous Anniversary Ball in San Francisco, Jimmy and Kim both dressed to impress in hopes of meeting again. Sure enough, there they were. A little spilled wine, some shameless dancing, and by the end of the night it was on the balcony (in front of Jimmy’s entire family looking on!) where they shared a first kiss.

They began their relationship across the bridge from each other, and travelled back and forth to remain close—admiring the Pacific Coast one weekend, exploring the Berkeley Hills next—before eventually moving in together.

Over the years they had many homes, rescuing 7 cats along the way (adopting 3); enduring a pandemic filled with card games, movie marathons, gardening, and family recipes; only to emerge stronger as a couple than ever before.

A few delayed proposals and one hidden Easter egg later, they’re eager to finally tie the knot!
